Job Purpose |
The Dean of the College of Computing and Intelligent Systems
provides visionary academic and administrative leadership to advance
academic excellence, interdisciplinary computing education, research
innovation, and community engagement. The Dean is responsible for developing
programs and research initiatives that empower the agriculture and
veterinary sectors through AI, data science, IoT, and bioinformatics. The
Dean leads the development and execution of a forward-thinking academic
strategy aligned with the university's mission, global trends, and national
development goals. The Dean drives continuous improvement in curriculum,
faculty development, and institutional effectiveness, ensuring alignment
with national priorities and global academic standards. |
Key Accountabilities |
- Create and sustain a strong network outside the College with the aim
of facilitating the process of education and training and research
activities.
- Establish strategic directives, aims and policies related to the
educational process and research activities within the College and
its departments and oversee the implementation of these objectives.
- Represent the University in all matters related to the College at
various conferences and symposiums outside the University.
- Propose recommendations related to developing and implementing the
College Annual Budget and conduct analyses of productivity and
effectiveness on a regular basis.
- Create a network of experts and visiting professors to support the
educational and research activities of the College and its
sustainability.
- Propose recommendations related to developing University policies
and procedures and participate in this process.
- Promote inclusive excellence by fostering a diverse academic
environment where all voices are valued and students and staff from
varied backgrounds can thrive.
- Champion the integration of educational technologies and
data-informed decision-making to enhance teaching, learning, and
operational efficiency.
- Oversee curriculum quality and relevance, encourage innovation in
teaching and learning practices, and ensure alignment with
accreditation and international benchmarks.
- Build international collaborations and global exchange programs to
position the College as a globally connected academic entity.
- Possess knowledge of human resources and management concepts as well
as higher education practices, policies, and procedures.
- Develop and lead research strategy, support faculty in securing
external research grants, and foster interdisciplinary
collaborations that address societal challenges.
- Possess excellent communication skills and the ability to work
effectively in a multicultural and diverse community.
- Possess experience in communicating and networking with relevant
institutions with the aim of promoting education and research.
- Be an expert in matters dealing with external institutions and
organizations as well as international accreditation bodies.
- Assist in preparing various reports, analysis and statistics
requested for academic accreditation purposes.
- Complete any other job-related tasks as assigned by line manager
within the expected time limit.

Job Specific Accountabilities |
Leadership
- Leads the management of change through proactive change initiatives
and programs across the College Function, as well as directs and
ensures the effective setting of functional and individual
objectives in order to maximize employees’ and the College overall
performance.
Budget
- Oversees the development of and approves the College’s budget as
well as monitors the financial performance versus the budgets in
order to identify areas of unsatisfactory performance and resolve
them, and capitalizes on potential areas of cost reduction or
performance improvement.
Continuous Improvement
- Directs continuous improvement mandates through proactive and
regular development of systems, processes, and practices to ensure
that the College operations are lean and optimized.
- Directs the development and implementation of the College policies,
procedures, and controls so that all relevant procedural and
legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality
and cost-effective service to stakeholders.
- Provides the Chancellor with sound advice on matters pertaining to
organization structuring for the College to ensure that the
structure supports the delivery of UoDH’s strategy that resources
are optimally utilized, and that communication takes place in an
efficient manner.
Student Employability & Engagement
- Establishes data-driven strategies to track alumni outcomes, enhance
employability through tech incubators, and promote student
engagement via coding competitions, research symposia, and
innovation hubs.
Global Strategy & Visibility
- Builds strategic partnerships with global tech leaders, fostering
internships, joint research labs, and co-designed programs.
- Leads global positioning efforts through international academic
alliances, dual-degree programs, research consortia, and active
participation in QS/Times Higher Ed rankings.
Systems, Processes and Reports
- Ensures that all reports generated by the Academic Support Services
or any of its functions are prepared in a timely and accurate
manner, and that they meet UoDH’s requirements and standards.
- Leads the preparation of, reviews, and approves certain management
reports as well as updates the Chancellor on all related activities
pertaining to the College operations in order to support management
decision making.

Required Qualification & Experience |
- A Minimum of a Ph.D. in a relevant discipline.
- A Minimum of 20 Years of experience in leadership position
preferably in higher education institutions.
- Priority is to UAE Nationals.

cybersecurity, and cloud computing.
- Proven track record in managing funded research, patents, and
startup incubation.
- Ability to build tech-enabled learning ecosystems and drive digital
transformation in pedagogy.

- Expertise in ethical implications and governance of intelligent
systems.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to
prepare professional documents and proofread the work of others.
