Visiting Assistant Professor of Public Relations

Purpose of the job:
The Department of Communication at the College of Arts, Science, and Information Technology invites applications for the position of Visiting Professor of Public Relations, starting from the Fall 2025-2026 semester.
The professor of public relations is responsible for teaching public relations courses with the requirements of the public media and communication of the college. Contribute to the development of academic curriculum, supervise students, academic research, and provide career guidance to students. The role includes enhancing students' knowledge of public relations concepts, developing their analytical and communication skills, and preparing them for the labor market. The professor is also expected to participate in academic and institutional activities, and to publish scientific research in the fields of public relations and media.
The ideal candidate will have a proven research record, with publications in high-impact journals (e.g., indexed in Scopus) and proof of ability to secure internal and external research funding. .

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Teaching specialized and general courses using innovative methods and methodologies.
  • Develop a strong research record in the form of publications in high-impact Scopus journals.
  • Contribute to the academic and extracurricular activities of the department.
  • Provide effective advice to students and supervise graduation projects.
  • Preparing and developing curricula and course plans in line with developments in the field of public relations.

Required Skills:

  • Teaching public relations courses at the undergraduate levels.
  • PhD in Public Relations.
  • Teaching experience of at least three (3) years after completion of the doctorate.
  • Strong research record as evidenced by publication in top-tier journals (priority for publication in Scopus).
  • Evidence of the effectiveness of successful teaching and academic and community service.
  • Practical experience and knowledge of media content production and design tools in public relations.
  • A proven record of professional integrity, collegiality, and commitment to diversity.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and commitment to collaborative and collegial engagement, and building relationships with professionals, companies, and alumni.
  • Preference will be given to individuals who can teach in both Arabic and English.
  • Preference will be given to graduates of foreign universities.
