Objective of the Role:
To contribute to building a safe and stable university environment through the implementation of risk management systems, identifying, assessing, and addressing potential risks that may impact academic and administrative operations, and coordinating with all relevant stakeholders within the university.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

    1. Qualifications & Requirements:
      Identify and analyze potential risks that may affect the university's academic, administrative, operational, financial, legal, or security aspects.
    2. Development of Risk Management Strategies:
      Develop and implement proactive plans and procedures to mitigate potential risks and enhance institutional preparedness.
    3. Monitoring and Evaluating Risks:
      Monitor risks regularly, assess their impact and likelihood, and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented corrective and preventive actions.
    4. Collaboration with Colleges and Departments:
      Coordinate with various internal entities to assess risks and develop practical response plans while ensuring stakeholder engagement in risk-related decisions.
    5. Reporting:
      Prepare and present analytical reports on risk status and provide recommendations to senior management to support informed decision-making.
    6. Awareness and Training:
      Organize workshops, seminars, and training sessions to promote a risk-aware culture and increase awareness among staff and faculty members.
    7. Regulatory Compliance Monitoring:
      Keep up to date with local and international laws and regulations related to risk management and ensure the university's compliance.
    8. Business Continuity Planning:
      Assist in the development and update of the university's business continuity and disaster recovery plans to ensure readiness in emergencies.
    9. Support in Internal Audits and Compliance:
      Collaborate with internal audit teams to ensure integration between risk management systems and institutional governance and compliance structures.
    10. Incident and Risk Database Management:
      Update the risk and incident database, conduct root cause analyses, and document lessons learned to prevent recurrence.
    11. KPI Development:
      Propose and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of the university's risk management activities.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Risk Management, Governance, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications such as PRM, CRM, or ISO 31000 are preferred.
  • 3 to 5 years of practical experience in risk management, internal audit, or institutional governance.
  • Strong analytical, planning, and reporting skills.
  • Fluency in Arabic and English (reading, writing, and speaking).
  • Excellent computer skills, especially in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Handle sensitive information with full confidentiality.
  • UAE Nationals will be given priority.
