Purpose of the job:
The Department of Undergraduate Requirements at the College of Arts, Science and Information Technology at the University of Dhaid invites applications for the position of Visiting Professor in Islamic Culture, starting in the fall semester 2025-2026.
The professor of Islamic studies is responsible for teaching university requirements (Islamic culture, jurisprudence of the Prophet’s biography).
Contributing to the development of academic curricula, supervising students, academic research, and providing professional guidance to students. The role includes enhancing students’ knowledge of the concepts of Islamic culture and jurisprudence of the Prophet’s biography, developing their analytical and communication skills, and preparing them for the labor market. The professor is also expected to participate in academic and institutional activities, and to publish scientific research in the fields of Islamic studies.
The ideal candidate will have a proven research record, with publications in high-impact journals eg, indexed in Scopus and demonstrated ability to secure internal and external research funding.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Teaching specialized and general courses using innovative methods and methodologies.
  • Develop a strong research record in the form of publications in high-impact Scopus journals.
  • Contribute to the academic and extra-curricular activities of the department.
  • Provide effective advice to students and supervise graduation projects.
  • Preparing and developing curricula and course plans in line with developments in the field of digital media design.
  • Take on administrative responsibilities related to academic committees, service to the University, or related activities.

Required Skills:

  • Teaching courses on Islamic culture and jurisprudence of the Prophet’s biography at the bachelor’s level.
  • Doctorate in Islamic Studies.
  • Teaching experience of at least three (3) years after completion of the doctorate.
  • Strong research record as evidenced by publication in top-tier journals (priority for publication in Scopus).
  • Evidence of the effectiveness of successful teaching and academic and community service.
  • Practical experience and knowledge of tools for producing and designing media content in Islamic studies.
  • Proven record of professional integrity, collegiality, and commitment to diversity.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and commitment to collaborative engagement and collegiality, and building relationships with professionals, companies and alumni.
  • Preference will be given to individuals who can teach Arabic.
  • Preference will be given to graduates of local universities.
