Job Description:
The Department of Communication at the College of Arts, Sciences, and Information Technology at Al Dhaid University invites applications for the position of Associate/Assistant Professor of Mass Communication, starting from the Spring 2025 semester. The Mass Communication Professor is responsible for teaching mass communication courses, as well as the ability to teach practice-based materials related to television and radio media production, journalism practice and/or interactive media production, contribute to the development of academic curricula, supervise students, and provide career guidance to students. The role also includes enhancing students' knowledge of mass communication concepts, developing their analytical and communication skills, and preparing them for the job market. The professor is also expected to participate in academic and institutional activities. Applicants must have strong research publications including those categorized in the Scopus database, we will prioritize Arabic and English speakers for this position.

Responsibilities:

  • Teaching specialized and general courses using innovative methods and methodologies.
  • Develop a strong research record in the form of publications in high-impact Scopus journals.
  • Contribute to the academic and extracurricular activities of the department.
  • Provide effective advice to students and supervise graduation projects.
  • Preparing and developing curricula and course plans in line with developments in the field of mass communication.
  • Take on administrative responsibilities related to academic committees, service to the University, or related activities.

Qualifications:

  • Teaching mass communication courses at the undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels.
  • PhD in Mass Communication.
  • Teaching experience of at least three (3) years after completion of the doctorate.
  • Strong research record as evidenced by publication in top-tier journals (priority for publication in Scopus).
  • Evidence of the effectiveness of successful teaching and academic and community service.
  • Practical experience and knowledge of media content production and design tools in public relations.
  • A proven record of professional integrity, collegiality, and commitment to diversity.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and commitment to collaborative and collegial engagement, and building relationships with professionals, companies, and alumni.
  • Preference will be given to individuals who can teach in both Arabic and English.
